The great part about Fall is that you can master the art of layering summer pieces into your new wardrobe. First off, try a long sleeved floral short dress with dark colored accents in the print. It is already a good transition piece with the darker hued color combos. Next, layer on a drape-waterfall knit vest, preferably in a dark color (brown, black, charcoal) and layer a faux fur vest on top of that to add dimension. Make sure the fur is a plain print, it will complement the floral prints as well. Top it off with sheer black tights (no patterns!), rugged booties to spice it up, and copper-toned jewelry to stick with the vintage feel. Below is my take on the perfect summer-to-fall look!

Accessories: Forever 21 Faves
Here is a roundup of my favorite accessories picks from Forever 21. Accessories can glam up any outfit. It's that finishing touch that separates dull from chic. As you may know, I'm all about camel this season. Yet the darker hues are flattering as well. Dark military greens, grays, and blacks work well together to create timeless fall looks. The best part is that these items are unbelievably cheap you won't feel bad for buying these pieces! Click on the collage to check out the prices of each item listed here.

Outfit: Beige Blazer with Torn Jeans
Earlier I mentioned a quick tip to change up an outfit was to pair a fitted, structured blazer with torn jeans. I tried it out myself and here is the result! Ann Taylor boyfriend blazer, $89, torn light jeans from Ross, $14, Aldo wedges, $45, and a striped tunic from Ross for only $7! What do you think?
Taupe
Since taupe is the newest nail color trend for fall, I wanted to find some taupe clothing pieces that can transition into this season as well. Taupe is one of my favorite colors because it's a type of gray with more dimension. Below are some pieces that I found that can work well for summer (over a breezy floral dress) and fall (paired with high boots, dark skinny jeans, and basics).

What to Wear to a Fashion Show
Q: What outfit would you put together to attend a fashion show?--Stella
A: Great question! Since fall is right around the corner, it'd be great to play up some of your favorite trends for the upcoming season--leopard print, camel coats, military accents, etc.
--Layering is a great trick to spice up any outfit. Try pairing a girly, chiffon dress with a cropped print blazer, In the look below, it's best to have just one statement piece and balance it off with neutral pieces that have interesting textures. I love this Stella McCartney chiffon dress because it's flowy yet contrasts well with the leopard (trend alert!) blazer. You can edge it out even more with funky ankle booties or lace-up heels.
--Think minimal, tailored, and fun! The best way to look your best is to wear classic pieces that fit well to your body. Adding just a pop of color would make any outfit more interesting and appealing.
In this outfit below, I balanced the outfit with neutral colored bottoms (like these gray harem pants) and a colored fitted blazer or a draped coat. I love the coat on the right because it's very slouchy and oversized, but the belt cinches your waist to give shape. This fitted boyfriend blazer is a great touch of color, yet toned down enough for any look you're going for. Top it off with sleek black heels, a sheer white button-down, and few accessories. It's all about minimalism right? ;)
--If it's a day-time show, this military-esque outfit would be a good fit. Throw on a vest with a flouncy neutral top (the bow accent is a great touch), dark distressed denim shorts with sheer black tights. A fun, embellished clutch and chunky textured heels can dress up the look.
I hope these outfits helped! Don't forget to let me know what you're wearing! ;)

Coco Rocha...Enough Said
Check out Coco Rocha's newest cover for New York Magazine's fall fashion issue. Her expression, hair styling, and insane cat eyes steal the show from the black knit sweater. The black and white effect was the perfect touch to the overall image. What do you think?

Video: The Romantics J. Crew Photo Shoot
I told you before that I admire J.Crew's styling aesthetic, but now I want to tell you how much I love the way they capture their models' (or actors in this case) true essence through photos. This behind-the-scenes video of The Romantics photo shoot shows how the movie stars Katie Holmes, Adam Brody, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Jeremy Strong, and Rebecca Lawrence "look perfectly preppy and put together as they show off the cocktail designs collection".
My favorite part of the video is seeing their group shots and how they are all laughing and having a great time together. These shots are what I strive for when I do fun, lifestyle shoots. I am definitely keeping these looks as inspiration for a future photo shoot. ;)

Me_Tail: New Outlook on Online Shopping
You know that anxiety that you get when you purchase something online but unsure if it's the right size/fit on you? And once you excitedly open up the package, to your disappointment it just doesn't work out and definitely isn't as appealing as on the model online. THEN you have to spend even more money to just return it. Yeah I've been there, done that. But now, there's a solution for all our online-shopping problems!
"Metail is a plug-in service for clothing retail and media/fashion websites that allows customers to see how clothes look on realistic 3D body models."
I can't wait til this website launches, I'll keep you guys posted on my experience with it. Keep me posted with yours too!

Turban: In or Out?
After looking through the runway looks of Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall 2010 haute couture show, the colorfully wild turbans on the models' heads have been etched in my mind ever since. Now I see this style applied in everyday street fashion--the more I see it the more I'm genuinely appealed to it.
Plus, Hermes' new website about their scarves and the multiple ways to wear them has confirmed my new like (maybe love) for head scarves & turbans.

MUST-HAVE School Bags All Under $25!
Here is a roundup of affordable and adorable totes and oversized bags that are perfect for your first day back in school! I'm eyeing the vintage floral bag from Forever 21 for $24.80 and the black satchel bag from Target for $24.99. What's your favorite? Buy it before they run out! To shop these looks, just click on the image and it will lead you to the sites.
Go-To Shopping Outfit
Still in that summer rut? Well if it's still 90 degrees in your area like NYC, then this is a great go-to outfit. Jessica Alba was seen yesterday shopping in Soho wearing a light denim, knee-length skirt, a sheer dark gray tank top, and accessorized the look with a black pendant, caged wedges, skinny belt, and an oversize tote. The skirt is a great addition and really caught my eye. Though it's a simple piece, Alba modernized the "mom skirt" with the current fashion trends (sheer, short wedges, skinny belt, oversized bag). This outfit is comfortable, simple, yet very fashion-forward. What do you think?

Mulberry for Target
As I was sitting on the front steps of The Met soaking in the breezy New York air and people watching, my friend Jasmine reminded me about the Mulberry for Target collection coming out on October 10th. Since my senior year of college is closely approaching, I want to refresh my clothing collection and all the other necessities to start school off on the right track. One of those necessities is a knapsack/tote/satchel for my books. Mulberry's new collection for Target would be a great book bag--it's durable, has a simple yet classic shape, the color is neutral and can go with everything, and this style is screaming FALL 2010.
Who isn't going to get it?!
But if you're dying to get one like me, mark your calendars on August 20th because Gilt will have a special limited edition sale on these Mulberry bags! (Mama's a Rolling Stone)
This is the style that I would love to get, unfortunately the Alexa bag isn't part of the collection but I sure hope they have a similar design. It's big enough to carry my books, notebooks, and other school essentials, and transitions well into other non-school activities that I'll be doing throughout the year.

To Cut or Not To Cut
Oh man, when I saw this picture of Camilla Belle on Lucky's blog, it gave me a surge of inspiration. I haven't cut my hair above the shoulders since I was 15 and it took me this long to finally grow it out. But now I want to cut it off again. And this picture is validation for how good it can look. What do you think? Should I do it?! AHH ;)
Quick Tip: Colored Thin Socks with Platforms
I love love love this girl's style. It's so sleek, simple, and amazingly appealing. I'm going to try this trick soon--style camel sleeve dress with matching wedge suede heels and deep plum socks. It's simple, yet makes a bold statement.

Three Ways to Style: Leopard Blazer
Though I've never been an avid fan of this fall trend, I'm starting to get used to it and even like it more and more. I finally succumbed to the trend after I bought these adorable leopard print wedges for only $12.95 at H&M!
After looking through Fall '10 runway shows, I noticed that a lot of designers styled it with very neutral, solid pieces that everyone has in their wardrobe. This blazer acts as the statement piece and can be accented with neutrals of different textures.
Below is my take on how to style a leopard print blazer in three different ways:
1. Take a simple black jersey dress and layer it up with chunky sweaters and nude-colored heels. Style it with skinny chain necklaces with a hint of black detailing.
2. This is the dressier look. Pair a flowy, silky, black romper with caged heels and gold chain necklaces.
3. The business attire outfit: pair a soft, sheer blouse with high waisted tweed shorts and finish it off with simple black flats and a short chunky necklace.
Below are other leopard looks from the runway for more inspiration:

J. Crew's unique sense of styling has always been a stand out when browsing through dozens of designer lookbooks. They combine pieces that are out of the norm, creating flawless images that serve as inspiration for those who are craving more.
